A set of 3 versatile brass tools. Each has 2 different ends - so 6 tools in all!
These double-ended tools are wonderful - even if I say so myself!!! Great for encasing, poking, pushing, prodding, sculptural work etc etc etc. The brass just grabs the hot glass and moves it where you want it. 4mm wide and approx 7.5" long they sit easy in your hand and you'll find yourself reaching for them all the time. Each one is hand ground and finished to a high standard.
Note; Each tool is hand made by me, to order, so postage will take longer, up to an extra two weeks. Anything else you have ordered will be posted out immediately so there will be no delay on the rest of your order. Postage on this item (if bought alone) is FREE!
If you love brass tools and presses please visit my friend Sandy at www.spheresofglass.com , she has an ever expanding range of brass presses and more - yummy beads too!
This video(PAL) comes with a booklet to accompany the content.
This is an interesting video by Pam East all about making beads from enamels of different grades. This isn't strictly glass beadmaking as most people know it, but it does provide a different angle and a springboard for new ideas. The author uses a brazing type torch, but obviously a HotHead or similar, or a `proper' glass torch would be prefered equipment.
Please, remember that although the video does not mention protective glasses, or annealling - these matters should never be ignored when melting glass.
Fibre Blanket for cooling your beads.
I have personally found blanket much more reliable than vermiculite, and had a lot fewer breakages. The blanket size is 24" x 8", so is plenty big enough to fold in half and cover your beads. This blanket is body soluble - that means when you inhale some of the fibres, (and you will, just as you will inhale the mica from vermiculite) they won't just sit around in your lungs like old-style fibre blanket. These fibres will be absorbed by the body and leave no residue or problems.
Polarising filters - 2 pack. Approx 60x60mm. Comes with instruction sheet.
These filters are for checking that your beads are correctly annealled. Sometimes kilns are hotter in some areas than others, or your schedule may not be correct for your size/style of bead. Its worth having a set of these filters to periodically check for stress within your beads. Also a fantastic teaching aid to show the importance of annealling. Filters are coated in a protective film to prevent scratches, it peels off very easily.

This bead release cleaner is very easy to use. You can get amazing results for your transparent beads. This is a small pack of 5 tubes - perfect if you aren't sure this cleaner is for you. If you make transparent beads I'm sure you won't be disappointed though!
I can't give you an exact weight as each of the 5 cleaners weigh differently. If this was frit, the tubes would weigh around 10g

I can't give you an exact weight as each of the 5 cleaners weigh differently. If this was frit, the jars would weigh around 50g - 5 times more than the tubes above, so excellent value!!!
